Rob and I are trying to make our wedding day more of a semi-destination wedding weekend. We know that it is a holiday weekend, our wedding is the weekend right after Thanksgiving, but we are hoping that our closest friends and family will come for the whole she-bang! Rob and I are planning to do Thanksgiving dinner with my family the weekend before Thanksgiving, so on Thanksgiving day the two of us, and Rob's family can head up to Lancaster and enjoy a Thanksgiving up there. Then on Friday my family is coming up and we all want to maybe do a little shopping - Black Friday Shopping at the outlets anyone? Friday night, after we all rest from our early morning shopping war expedition we will have our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Then we get to be awake bright and early Saturday morning since our wedding ceremony is at 11 and our reception is from 12-4. We decided to have an afternoon wedding so that our guests that choose not to stay in Lancaster for the night have plenty of daylight in which to drive home.
Now comes the question, what do we do after our reception at 4? Rob and I want to have some sort of afterparty. Right now we are thinking of reserving one of the pools in Willow Valley (they have 3!) and having an after wedding pool party. Then on Sunday, a brunch.
We'll all change beforehand... but still, how awesome would doing this picture be even if we're all in our bathing suits?
Are you having a morning, afternoon or night wedding? What are you thinking of doing to keep your guests entertained before and after the wedding?
