82 Days

Today I promised to reveal our first dance song. However, first some back story. (Ok, ok if you are really jumping from foot to foot waiting to know our first dance song scroll down now, I'll wait for you!) Rob was in our high school's jazz band. At that time, I had a friend who was dating a member of the band also and the two of us went together to see our two boys compete at state championships.

This is one of the many concerts I have attended since that very first one back in high school.

Rob had a solo that year on the trombone. So, while my friend and I snuck down to the first row, we watched our school's band come on stage. I remember sitting there, knowing he had a solo, and since I had never really heard him play before, I was super 10th grade girl excited!

The song he came to the front of stage to play was, "My One and Only Love" (there are many variations of this song, if you are not familiar with it, it deserves a listen, click here to listen to it on youtube)

Don't worry, he never actually threw his trombone in! :)

I remember being in awe of how effortless he looked playing the trombone and that song, and I could not take my eyes off of him! When the song ended, the audience erupted! He ended up winning best soloist that night. My boyfriend won the best soloist award of our entire state! I was awestruck!

Since then, "My One and Only Love' has always held a special place in our hearts! So now you have it, that is our song, we never really set out to pick one, it picked us!
